I have a weird fascination with abandoned places. I had an article earlier about the six flags that has not seen a human in 6 years due to Katrina. That was weid. Here is another one, the abandoned Russian Space program BURAN. Here is a snippet from Wiki:
The Buran (Russian: Бура́н, IPA: [bʊˈran], Snowstorm or Blizzard) program was a Soviet and later Russian plan for a reusable spacecraft, that began in 1974 at TsAGI and formally suspended in 1993. It was a response to the United States Space Shuttle program. The project was the largest and the most expensive in the history of Soviet space exploration. Development work included sending the BOR-5 on multiple sub-orbital test flights, and atmospheric flights of the OK-GLI. Buran completed one unmanned orbital spaceflight in 1988 before its cancellation in 1993.
Nice find there! How sparse does that cockpit look… Thank goodness there were no manned missions in Buran before the project got axed!
I know what you mean about abandoned places. I have a “weird” fascination too, although I like to think it’s down to my interest in the historical nature of the buildings/places/objects, but I guess part of it comes down to the fact that many of them look so damned offbeat!!!
how many hours a week do I craft? well that all depends on how well beaevhd my kids are, but probably no more than about 3 or 4 hours a week. I do get a wee bit more time when the other half is home, cos I’ll just disappear and leave him to deal with the little menacesDebzx
